Lesson 3 of3

Interactions With Me, Your Designated Broker

It’s true that if it were not for the time, effort, and expense I put in, WEBREALTY wouldn’t exist. However, it’s also true that were it not for the actions of the brokers and staff, the WEBREALTY Team wouldn’t exist. We are all integral to the company’s success, which, as such, filters down to our own business and personal worlds.

While we are all important and contribute to the company, I am the one who ultimately must chart the course and make it happen. I’ve had a vision of what the company will eventually look like and spend 66 hours per week here at the office working to that end. In addition, I spend time at home both on the computer and phone, assisting various brokers. I want to help everyone become successful, but I also need to set some boundaries for the good of my and my family’s health and well-being. With that said, here are my DOs and DO NOTs.

DO NOTs

  • Please don’t ask me something because it’s easier, quicker, or more convenient. It’s important that you know where to go for answers to various questions and learn how to be independent. In many cases, Google, NWMLS, or the WEBREALTY.team site can provide you with answers to your questions. I may not always be available to answer your question in a timely manner. Also, as we grow, if everyone asked me questions that they could easily find out on their own, I wouldn’t have time to continue building the company for the betterment of everyone.
  • Please don’t call or text me after 7:30 PM unless it’s something that can’t wait until the morning and only I can help you. After basically a 12-hour day, I do need a little downtime every day.

DOs

  • If, after a good-faith effort, you are unable to satisfactorily find the answer to something, do call or text me. I prefer email if it’s not extremely urgent. If it’s something you need the solution to right away, go ahead and make the call or text. If you don’t get a timely response, I likely forgot my phone at the office. If that’s the case, you might try calling one of the other team members to see if you can get your issue resolved.
  • If it’s something that can’t be resolved by looking it up online, when it comes to listings, sales, or anything else of a legal nature, do run anything you are uncomfortable with by me for my opinion or suggestion. Failing to do so could put you, me, and the company in financial and legal trouble.
  • Do take advantage of all the team site has to offer. That’s especially the case with the ASK QUESTIONS feature and the dozens of discussion forums available for virtually every topic in real estate. Go to the Activity Feed to ask a question on the left column, or go to the appropriate group to start a discussion about something you’re curious about or want the opinion of your fellow brokers. Conversations become part of the library in each group. They are perpetually valuable as a place for others to look up similar things. As time goes on, the site will become a convenient source of answers for many of your questions.
